27. Hiszpania

Barri Gòtic - średniowieczna dzielnica w Barcelonie, centrum barcelońskiego Starego Miasta (Ciutat Vella). Rozciąga się pomiędzy wybrzeżem Morza Śródziemnego a rondem Sant Pere oraz między aleją La Rambla i ulicą Via Laietana.

Zasadniczy skomplikowany układ ulic w dzielnicy oraz większość budynków datuje się na okres średniowiecza, chociaż dzielnica była przebudowana częściowo w XIX i XX wieku. Większość tego obszaru jest obecnie wyłączona z ruchu kołowego, poza taksówkami i komunikacją miejską. Jest to równocześnie teren, na którym zachowała się największa liczba obiektów z okresu rzymskiego osadnictwa na terenie dzisiejszej Barcelony. W obrębie Barri Gòtic znajduje się również dawna dzielnica żydowska El Call.

Bardzo mi zależało, aby właśnie dzisiaj dodać pocztówkę z Barcelony, ponieważ dzisiaj piękna Brysia nosząca imię tego pięknego miasta obchodzi pierwsze urodzinki.

Barri Gotic - Barcelona's medieval district, the center of Barcelona's Old Town (Ciutat Vella). It stretches between the Mediterranean coast and the brim of Sant Pere and between the Rambla and down Via Laietana.
The basic complex of streets in the district and most of the buildings date back to the Middle Ages, although the district was partially rebuilt in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Most of the area is currently closed to vehicular traffic except taxis and public transport. It is also the area where the largest number of preserved buildings from the period of the Roman settlement in today's Barcelona. Within Barri Gòtic is also the former Jewish quarter of El Call.
