Kolejna dzisiejsza pocztówka jest z Sri Lanki i przedstawia miasto Galle wraz z jego fortyfikacjami.
Miasto składa się z dwóch części: zabytkowego fortu wysuniętego w
morze i nowszej części miasta, znajdującej się na stałym lądzie.
W 1986 r. założenie fortowe wpisane zostało na listę światowego dziedzictwa UNESCO
jako najlepszy przykład ufortyfikowanego miasta wzniesionego przez
Europejczyków w Azji południowej i południowo-wschodniej. Fort Galle
jest największym z zachowanych miast fortowych wzniesionych przez
Europejczyków w Azji. Około 400 domów wyznacza linie pięciu głównych
ulic. Całe założenie fortu zajmuje obszar 700 x 400 m. Obecny kształt
fortu nadany został w XVII w przez Holendrów.

In 1986, the establishment of forts were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as the best example of a fortified city built by Europeans in south Asia and south-east. Galle Fort is the largest of the surviving fortowych cities built by Europeans in Asia. About 400 houses five sets line the main streets. The whole premise of the fort covers an area of 700 x 400 m present shape of the fort was given by the Dutch in the seventeenth.
